- 올슨은 마음을 고쳐먹었다고 브리에게 말합니다. 더이상 아내를 괴롭히려고, 도둑질과 거짓말을 하지 않겠다고 맹세 합니다. 브리는 올슨의 말을 믿으려 합니다. 하지만, 아들 엔드류는 올슨을 믿을 수 없다고 합니다. 

 

mom, your BS meter might be broken, but mine works just fine.

BS (or bullshit) means nonsense, usually deceptive nonsense.

예문 You come home very late. Your mother asks "Why did you come home late?" 
You say, "I was helping my friend with his homework." 
Your mother knows you're lying. 
She says, "That's BS! What were you really doing?"

A "BS meter" means a person's ability to know when another person is saying something that isn't true. The mother in the above example has a good BS meter.

N.B. BS (or bullshit) can also be a verb: Your friend says "I was at McDonald's last night and Elvis Presley came in and ordered four Big Macs." You say, "You're BSing me! Elvis is dead!"
